Spicy Tequini

This is a pretty unusual drink that became a personal favourite the very first time Javier Muñoz served it to me. It has a peppery bite in fine balance with the sweetness from the honey. The spice from the ginger is a perfect complement.

4 cl tequila 100 % agave reposado
1 splash Monin ginger syrup
1 tsp honey

Garnish: red pepper fruit

Fill a shaker with ice and add all ingredients but the garinsh. Stir and strain into a chilled cocktail glass. Cut the pepper fruit into thin slices which are placed on cocktail spears. One slice per drink should be enough, if you’d prefer it spicier still, add the seeds from the fruit and stir carefully.

Mexican Rose

I’m aware of the fact that it’s increasingly trendy to use pomegranate right now, but it’s got a delicious taste and gives the cocktail a beautiful, natural colour.

3 cl tequila 100 % agave reposado
1 cl triple sec
1,5 cl fresh lime juice
0,5 cl Grenadin
P
omegranate

Cut the pomegranate into four pieces, after separating the seeds and flesh of the fruit. Place a strainer over the shaker. Place the seeds and the fruit flesh in the strainer and squeeze out the juice using a spoon. Fill the shaker with ice and the remaining ingredients and shake vigorously for ten seconds. Strain into a chilled cocktail glass and serve. If you would like to make the drink more exciting, you can line the rim of the glass with a mixture of sugar and flake salt. Rub lemon along the rim of the glass and place the glass face down in a saucer of the sugar'n'salt mixture, the lime juice will ensure that it sticks. Enjoy!

And hey, keep in mind that pomegranates leaves stains that are awfully difficult to get out if you spill on your clothes, use an apron!

Golden Espresso Tequini

A pleasant drink before aswell as after a spicy dinner, yet can still accompany a tasty truffle!

3 cl tequila 100 % agave reposado
1 cl Borghetti espresso liqueur

Garnish: coffee beans

Fill a shaker with ice and add the ingredients. Instead of shaking, stir intensely for ten seconds. Strain into a chilled cocktail glass and garnish with coffee beans.

Rude Cosmopolitan

The vodka based Cosmopolitan has become one of the world’s most famous cocktails. When vodka is replaced with tequila, one is rewarded with a more complex cocktail, where the spirit also adds flavour, not just alcohol.

3 cl tequila 100 % agave blanco
1 cl triple sec
2 cl cranberry juice
1 cl fresh lime juice

Fill a shaker with ice and add all ingredients. Shake vigorously for ten seconds and strain into a chilled cocktail glass.

Tejito

The rum based mojito has worked it’s way into almost every single cocktail menu in the world over the last five years. Tequila is a great alternative to the rum, it makes the mojito rougher and less sweet.

4 cl tequila 100 % agave blanco
2 cl fresh lime juice
10 mint leaves
1 cl sugar syrup
Crushed ice

Muddle the mint and lime into a highball glass. Add the remaining ingredients and fill the glass to the top with crushed ice.

Tequini

A variant on the king of cocktails, but with lemon replacing the traditional olive.

6 cl tequila 100 % agave blanco
1,5 cl dry vermouth
A splash Angostura

Garnish: lemon peel

Fill a shaker with ice and add all ingredients. Stir and strain into a chilled cocktail glass. Use a knife or a zest peeler to create a long, thin spiral of lemon. The lemon spiral is used as garnish and may be draped over the edge of the glass.
